At the University of Calgary's Haskayne Business
School, Sandy was responsible for the project of creating and launching
a new MBA program in Enterprise Development. This included market
research, program design, implementation planning, faculty team
coordination plus extensive interaction with private sector business
owners to ensure on-going quality control and results.
As Regional Director for CALA Human Resource Communications
Inc., (CALA) in Western Canada, Sandy was directly responsible for
business development and diversification opportunities. Her responsibilities
included all aspects of strategic and business planning, operations,
recruitment and training. Sandy also has experience in real estate,
tourism and secondary school education.
Sandy's academic credentials include an MBA and
three undergraduate degrees in Education, Applied Science and Psychology.
Her history of community service includes the Calgary Chamber of
Commerce, MBA Alumni Association, Calgary Human Resource Association
and the Canadian Progress Club. Sandy is also a former Board member
of Banff Mineral Springs Hospital and currently Chairs the ethics
committee.
An experienced practitioner, Sandy is qualified
to use the Myer-Briggs Type II Indicator, as well as other inventories.
She has facilitated programs for developing leadership character
and style as well as management skills in the areas of communication,
conflict resolution, performance improvement and team dynamics.
Clients include private and public sector organizations and crown
corporations.
Sandy is a strong proponent of life-long learning
which is applied, relevant, creative and engaging. She believes
that "superior performance in a volatile global economy requires
a commitment to ongoing learning."
