will be asked in Pre-course materials to identify a major Change/Strategic Challenge for their organization. Approx. 4 will be chosen to apply the program elements towards a solution/implementation plan and worked by Syndicate Teams to present on Day 5 to a panel of senior executives of School Boards &/or government. |

on the pre-readings, this also establishes a basis for integrating the rest of Program material. Bring pre-readings: "Strategy As Stretch & Leverage" "The Fall & Rise of Strategic Planning" Scenario Planning based upon today's Education Industry trends will allow participants to practice the technique and application to their organizations. |

to the transition between strategy and action, is the aspect of uniqueness positioning. What is your School Board's compelling Value Proposition? We will dig deep into the issue of how we determine what has Value for our customers, students, parents & communities. How we leverage our unique knowledge recipes (process design, production capability, etc.). Ultimately, in the transition between strategy and implementation we must clearly and consistently differentiate what we have to offer compared to everyone else. How do we do this, and ensure we can build a sustainable, positive presence in the community? |

This simulation exercise features 2 organizations and a government operating on an island providing for a complex, closed ecosystem of decision-making and personal/inter-personal action. This tests participants ability to perform competently in the areas covered so far in the program. Complex, high-energy, and fun! A memorable experience with rich application back to your real world, with "time-released learning" for months to come. |

school boards often feature very different approaches to governance. This session will review fundamental governance Principles, various models, and leading practices with case examples. |

faculty join us to look at specific ways senior school business officials can enhance the work of the Board vis a vis community and senior management. |
| Leading Practices in Leading the Board | Nuts
& Bolts of Board functioning - providing a tool-kit of tried & true approaches to excelling at Board Secretary, Secretary/Treasurer and CFO roles. |

Teams present their Case solutions to a panel likely to include a senior Superintendent, Deputy Minister of Education, and business community executive. Feedback & questions provided by panel enhance the learning experience. |

the time, intensity and real-life application of the Case Study exercise, we will take the time to pull out the many faceted learning from this exercise on the personal, organizational and application levels. |

| Re-entry Planning | Thoughtful
time to think about how each participant will apply their learning from the week, back into their workplace & personal lives - with some concrete plans for taking action. Also setting up the guideposts for SBOLead to check-back with participant 1, 3 and 6 months post-program to assist them in truly applying their experience into new practices. Instructions/Discussion on building your Personal Leadership Portfolio between Module 1 & returning for Module 2. |
