Performance improvement initiatives through leadership and management program design and facilitation are the focus of Sandy's work. Expertise in facilitating personal and professional development to increase awareness of self and others, communication, conflict resolution, coaching, enhanced learning environments and performance management are her specialties, as well as, business and strategic planning. In designing and facilitating programs she's a proponent of experiential activities to create engaging learner-centered experiences. Sandy is an experienced practitioner, qualified in MBTI applications including Step II, SDI, and other inventories. An MBA, B.Ed., and undergraduate degrees in Applied Science and Psychology, combined with career experience present a blended skill set for development of relevant programs with impact. Leadership roles that Sandy has held include private, public and non-profit sector experiences. As CEO and President of the Banff School of Advanced Management, the 4-week executive development program sponsored by western Canadian Universities, she guided the strategic direction, business development, and organizational performance. Her Program Director/Assistant General Manager role with the Leadership Program area at The Banff Centre demonstrated Sandy's skill in mentoring and coaching team members as well as in designing unique programs supported by competency maps for measurable learning. At the University of Calgary's Haskayne Business School, she utilized a high degree of communication and collaboration with business owners in Calgary and area to design and execute a new MBA program in Enterprise Development. Responsibilities as Regional Director of CALA Human Resource Communications for western Canada also built on her range of skills in assessing client needs in the corporate environment. Volunteer experience has included a wide range of organizations. Currently Sandy is a member of the Ethics Committee for Mineral Springs Hospital and former Board member. She is also a Board Member of the SPCA focusing on strategic and business planning, and the Education portfolio. Memberships include The Association for Psychological Type and past member of the International Society for Performance Improvement. Sandy is a strong proponent of life-long learning which is applied, relevant, creative and engaging. She believes that "superior performance – individual and organizational - requires a commitment to ongoing learning. If people can be inspired to look at things in new ways they will be adaptable to our rapidly changing environment." |
